Management acts like accountants and lawyers by thinking inside the box, focusing on process, not results.

Advice to Management

Accept and reward the iconoclastic worker who thinks outside the box and solves problems in unconventional ways if you want to restore the greatness of your former engineering-driven company.

Letting HCL America provide workers free of charge in exchange for profits might seem like a wonderful idea on paper, but it's terrible because HCL America tries to minimize its costs by providing "freshies" straight out of college in India with no experience.

Laying off people with 20 or 30 years of experience may be great for increasing profits, but these are the people who can prevent catastrophic errors in logic done by these junior programmers, resulting in in-flight failures and damaged brand credibility among customers and flight personnel.
