Advice to Management

While a lot of Boeing contractors are former or retired employees, I was not. That means I had no idea what I was supposed to do or where to go. My point of contact was incredibly vague and never directly answered simple questions like "Where do I go to get my badge?" or "What day am I actually supposed to start?"

Furthermore, don't lie to your contractors. I was told this would be a contract-to-hire position, only to be told on the last day of my contract that Boeing was, quote, "moving away from manual testing." The problem with this is that I was brought on as an SDET, but they stuck me with manual testing for the entire duration of the contract.

So they wanted to get rid of the work I was doing, despite the fact that I was brought on to do something completely different. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and makes me wonder how they manage to keep even a single airplane in the sky.
