Pros

Best benefits package. There are some remote pockets of great and absolutely amazing engineers and people.

Cons

Boeing has become very superficial and political, with its chief engineers being non-technical MBAs. It breaks my heart that a once great company, which used to have executives with airplane patents, is now just a checkbox resume company.

The people currently at Boeing do not have the skill set to design a new airplane from scratch and only partially understand their current product, which terrified me when seeing the ridiculous design choices on the 737 MAX and especially the 777X.

Boeing also hid quality issues from the FAA.

They have become arrogant with their predecessors' success and thus complacent on safety at every level. Boeing has no competitive advantage because of a leadership culture that is weaker than Kmart's.

Advice to Management

Dismantle the Technical Fellowship and return managers who were engineers. Focus on airplanes and the product! The focus on career development is super high for engineering, but with no focus on technical growth, just making resumes look good.
