Very good office community.
Benefits are excellent, even for a low-level engineer.
Interns receive paid vacation hours.
Social networking among fellow employees is a plus.
Work wasn't challenging enough, though to be fair, not a lot of big projects can be assigned for a 3-month internship. A lot of projects are done at a very slow pace.
Not a lot of innovation is going on in the commercial airliner side (at least that I have seen).
Also, I wasn't able to start doing actual real work until two weeks into the internship, when I finally got set up with a workstation and was able to access all the online training. (Way too much red tape.)
More can be done to fit an engineer's skills and talents with an office that requires those skills and talents. I would have liked to dive into the work a bit faster. Less red tape would have been nice.
HR interview checking if you are somewhat qualified - not too hard. Then, an interview with the hiring manager and lead engineer to see your skills, experience, and fit for the team - average difficulty.
Interviewed online by two senior engineers. First, a self-introduction and opportunity to pitch oneself for the job. Then, five questions to be answered using the STAR (Situation > Task > Action > Result) format. These weren't so much knowledge-bas
Expect questions related to your technical knowledge and expertise in aerospace engineering or a relevant field. This could include questions about your experience with aircraft systems, avionics, propulsion, or other specialized areas.
