Cons: Hey, random guy who wants to work at Bolt. This review is more valuable for you than a recruiter’s one-hour speech about company culture/values. Despite my good interview results and quick learning skills, I failed my probation period due to my "communications skills". Yes, you read it correctly. I did 7 interviews plus 4 months of contribution, but my English apparently wasn't "enough". By the way, it doesn't take 4 months to check one's English level and communication. You can define it during an hour-long written test or a 30-minute discussion. It makes me believe that the level of English was not the real reason. I am pretty sure that the English-fluent staff among the Engineering team in Tallinn, Bolt HQ, is not more than 40%. Although my communication skills and English level were shown as the reason for firing, most teams actually use Russian in their daily use, not English. You will not feel any requirement about Russian language skills at the beginning, but in reality, it is a strong desirable skill and maybe the reason to fire you for the lack of communication skills.

Pros: Learning curve. Smart and helpful colleagues. Impactful work.

Cons: With so many teams across countries, coordination can sometimes be slow or confusing.

Pros: This is a normal place to work, but the workload is high with chaotic management from time to time.

Cons: Lack of growth in the engineering field. Lagging behind modern development technologies due to insufficient space to address technical debt and implement new technologies. Focusing solely on product features. Work from office policy, but the quality of office space is not up to par.
