The interview process began with a HackerRank test. The questions covered HTML/CSS/JavaScript, time complexity, and algorithms of average difficulty. The test for the last question provided by Booking was incorrect. I struggled for a while because I didn't understand why my results were wrong. The input that was supposed to be correct was, in fact, incorrect. I realized this after 10 minutes, so be careful with that.
I passed the first part and received an email for the second phone interview with an HR representative. The interview was conducted via an app called BlueJeans. It was so badly set up that another interviewer from Booking joined first (because HR provided the same link), and the HR representative was five minutes late. I was very confused and thought he was the interviewer, so I started explaining myself. Then the HR woman joined, and we understood there was a problem. The other interviewer left, and I started explaining myself again. I was a bit nervous this time due to the situation, and the HR representative did NOTHING to calm me down or say, "No worries" or "Sorry." She simply waited for me to continue. She was very unprofessional and rude.
Even though they responded to me, she said I didn't have enough experience IN YEARS (she asked nothing technical). I stated that I still wanted to try my chance because I trusted my knowledge. She simply said no and asked me to try again after gaining more experience.
TL;DR: Overall, I had a very bad experience with a non-technical HR representative who did not even read my CV beforehand.
