Pros
  • Compensation across the Netherlands
  • Good office
Cons
  • Be prepared to be hired in one role (e.g., Machine Learning Engineer) but perform tasks related to other roles (Perl and Java backend development).
  • Management may not be able to align with tasks, so you might spend time doing useless work.
  • Legacy technology stack.
  • Huge bureaucracy load on employees, including many completely useless meetings.
  • The personal opinion of a single manager could lead to your dismissal from the company.
  • Although they always talk about employee protection, nobody (including top management) actually cares about what is going on when your manager personally dislikes you.
Advice to Management
  • Focus on product and people, but not on bureaucracy.
  • Don't provide so much power to lower management and take into consideration that their management skills are poor.
  • Take a minute to listen to your employees, but not only your managers.
