Decent compensation for Amsterdam. Good office location. 29 days personal time off.
Politics - By far it's the worst place I've ever been. Managers promote people from their own countries. Due to this, a lot of managers and senior developers are very weak technically. Some do not even know basic computer science concepts.
Retaliation - In general, there are very few opportunities for employees to give feedback about their managers. If you give anything negative, your manager will hunt you down and make sure that you suffer. Some people even got a PIP for giving critical feedback.
Engineering culture - No proper design reviews, code reviews, or testing.
Performance management - Show ponies are promoted and workhorses are neglected.
Please remove this TL position and conduct a CS101 test for MSDs, senior developers, and principals.
