I initiated the process through TripleByte. I spoke with the hiring manager, who promised to get back as soon as possible.
I did follow up a few times but received a rejection through the TripleByte platform. I did not even get an automated email or follow-up from the hiring manager.
Overall, I was very unimpressed with the process, the ageism, and the complete lack of communication.
When I spoke with the hiring manager, she seemed happy with my TripleByte scores but was concerned that because I only had 7 YOE, I was not capable of passing the bar of a Senior Engineer. At no point did she ask any technical questions or about the nature of my work; she just instantly came to the determination that I was not "Senior" material.
This experience appears to be an anomaly, as I applied to several other companies in the Bay Area (through TripleByte) as a Senior Engineer, interviewed, and received offers for those positions.
How old are you?
