Pros: Pays well, with bonuses, RSUs, ESPP, and company match, especially given the recent stock run-up. Great people (VMware division). Projects can be interesting. Brilliant CEO (but layoff happy).

Cons: Average to mediocre benefits. Multiple layoff rounds part of life. No WAH/remote work. No H1/B sponsorship except for senior staff. Projects may not be the most interesting.

Pros: Good stock run, nothing else.

Cons: It's all about survival and getting adopted into the bad culture just because you can't gather the courage to leave the cash on the table. Acquisition by Broadcom is like a definite death blow to the culture and innovation of the acquired company. Broadcom management only knows the language of money, including the CEO. The senior management of the acquired company (mostly a division in Broadcom at that time) is generally clueless and only has one goal: maximize profit margin. No innovation can happen in such a terrible place, never!
