Test Engineer Interview Experience - Irvine, California

Process

The campus interview came first. The people there were nice and friendly. I was then invited to Irvine for a day of interviews.

The administrative staff were very professional. They have their own travel department, which issued my tickets.

It was very kind of them to let me stay in Los Angeles for a week (without hotel costs, obviously). The hotel was excellent, providing preferential treatment with free parking, internet, and room service credits.

The interviews at the Irvine HQ were with seven people!

There were a lot of repeated questions. I'm not entirely sure what more they get out of a candidate compared to three 45-minute interviews, besides their ability to handle coffee. The interviewers were very friendly, though, mixing chat with technical questions.

In the end, it was an amazing company but a very disappointing position. It seems geared towards nerdier people who want to settle and have no entrepreneurial aspirations or competitive drive. The average time to reach a manager role is 10 years.
