Pros

Pay structure includes fair incentives.

Cons

Things have changed considerably. Cost cutting is too extreme. The support functions are reduced so much that an engineer has to spend much more time doing non-engineering roles. If I need to move a computer in the lab to a different ethernet port, I have to go to the switch room and change the switch cable to the new port. I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.

Advice to Management

Go back to the days of providing functional support for engineering and invest in some new technologies.
