I have learned a lot in the cellular division at Broadcom.
I, like many others, got the opportunity to go beyond the initial assignments and learn about many system aspects.
Internal transfers are easy, if not encouraged.
Compensation is OK; it used to be much better.
The cellular business was killed by the Beceem acquisition. The VP at Broadcom was buddies with the CEO of Beceem. After 3 years of going nowhere, Broadcom eventually acquired Renesas, but the CEO decided to pull the plug after 9 months. There's way too much politics now, and those who screwed up never faced the consequences of their actions.
Titles are very much inflated and meaningless. Those who just get a free ride get the same recognition as those who do the work.
Get rid of people who supported the acquisition of Beceem.
Get HR to do their job: identify the key talent, keep them motivated, and retain them!
