Beware SW Engineers
Good Comm Scientists and Engineers. Most I've met are dedicated, hard-working, and believe they have Broadcom's best interest at heart.
Decent RF and modem baseband HW.
The amount of SW required for new products in this space is increasing exponentially.
The current management at all levels doesn't have the training or experience to deal with that.
This is the issue that will prevent Broadcom from competing effectively with Intel and Qualcomm.
Find the equivalent of Microsoft's David Cutler (Win NT).
Make him/her Senior VP – and get out of the way.
