Pros
  • Generous RSU grants keep people from leaving.
  • Work-life balance is manageable due to low product innovation.
Cons
  • Below-market salary with no hikes for years.
  • Constant fear of layoffs every quarter/month.
  • Senior leadership lacks vision and direction.
  • Middle management is powerless and demotivated.
  • No new R&D or product innovation (software BU's) - everything is in maintenance mode.
  • Products are being kept alive just to sell through aggregators.
  • Employee morale is at an all-time low.
Advice to Management

Stop relying solely on RSUs to retain talent. Reinvest in product innovation, empower mid-level leaders, and offer competitive compensation.

Without change, even the RSUs won’t be enough to hold back the exodus.
