The work atmosphere is unhuman. People are treated as slaves. Long hours are assumed. Taking your vacation is considered a privilege.
Bad management (they are almost exclusively former engineers).
Lots of not-nice people to deal with. Not many people to learn from; it looks like only incompetent people stayed and everyone who was any good left. (Those very few good people left, please don't feel offended when reading this.) Another group of people who stays is guys who were with the company for many years, possibly expecting a severance package if they are laid off.
Poor code-base.

Forget about specs, just code something.
