There is no reason for an engineer to become technically extinct here.
A lot of hours are required to be successful here due to the nature of working on leading-edge products. Employees are self-driven here, so extended work hours don't seem to be too much of an issue. Work hard and play hard.
I would like to see senior engineering managers start to focus just a little more on processes in a growing organization and less on the day-to-day technical details.
