Once leadership has decided on a project, the course is set. Work on that project will continue whether or not it seems to be a good fit for the teams on the ground. Transparency on decision-making at this level could be improved, but that's one of the realities of an 11k+ organization.

Listen to teams to better understand what's working and what isn't, and understand where projects are really at.
Try not to micromanage your employees. It rarely works and doesn't help team morale.
