You truly are surrounded by some of the smartest people around in a very fascinating and fast-paced industry when you work for C3. The company is run like a well-oiled machine, and everyone is working on an interesting project, trying to bring solutions to customers. This includes oil and gas, energy, the financial sector, or many of the other industries C3 partners with.
Overall, as an intern, I felt like I learned a ton (even a new programming language and distributed computing) working on the Ex Machina product. I felt like I was able to bring real value to it, and despite it being remote, I was still able to accomplish these things. I even got to meet the CEO and went into the office here and there.
There were certainly some difficulties with the internship being remote and maybe feeling kind of detached from the company. But it still ran pretty smoothly overall. I think it would have been nice to have more opportunities to meet more people in the company, but I was still able to reach out to some people and introduce myself.
Technical interviews ask coding and algorithmic problems. There is also a soft skills section with STAR-like questions. Results come back fast, which I think was nice. Usually, there are three rounds of interviews.
