Pros

Skilled professionals, generous compensation, and perks higher than normal.

Cons

They claim to be innovative, but they use outdated programming languages like js-rhino and their own overly complex language, which often complicates rather than simplifies tasks. Debugging? They don't know that word. Connecting to the development environment takes an eternity, and error messages are confusing and usually useless.

Their demos look good superficially, but the app itself is slow and often doesn't work properly.

There's no option to work from home.

Their method of assessing engineers' performance is outdated, focusing solely on metrics like lines of code and closed tickets. This overlooks the impact of internal tools, which often cause development issues not reflected in these metrics. Consequently, it unfairly labels engineers as "underperforming" as these metrics fail to quantify true impact.

Advice to Management

You have a very talented workforce. Take advantage of and value people for what they are: people, not just a number.
