A great place to work once you get used to it

Platform Engineer • Current Employee

London, England, United Kingdom

Pros: Flexible working has long been part of life at Capgemini. An excellent graduate programme. Sponsors bootcamps for people whose circumstances may have normally not permitted them a career in technology. Recognition is important at Cap and helps advance your career. The client base has grown during the COVID-19 pandemic, as has the number of engineers. Friendly staff, keen to collaborate and get to know one another.

Cons: Quality solutions are rarely captured in code for future reuse. Different sections rarely collaborate internally. Organization size can be daunting. Some may find it hard to get to know key people or become themselves known. Some aspects of administration are less smooth than they could be.

Pros: Capgemini has a motivated workforce of talented resources and a helpful management structure. Good opportunities for growth and a strong focus on training and development.

Cons: Moving across business lines and working on sales/pre-sales while you belong to a delivery practice is difficult. Too much focus on billed days and utilization, even for middle/upper middle management.
