I had an initial call with who would be my manager (after having a call with the recruiter).

He asked me about myself and quite a few questions about JS and React.

Then I had another call with him and another developer that I would be working with. They basically asked me the same questions again.

Later, the recruiter communicated to me that I was not quite the right fit because of my knowledge.

I would recommend that if they know someone is a bit too junior for the role from the beginning, it's probably better not to carry on with the process.
