I was asked some abstract knowledge questions and completed two coding exercises. After I finished both exercises, I was informed that I was not supposed to have looked up anything in other tabs, which apparently disqualified me. I found this extremely unprofessional.
If something would disqualify a candidate from consideration, they should be told up front, not at the end of the interview after completing both exercises.
