In the first week of May, I received a call from Capgemini HR regarding a Test Management role in Hinjewadi Phase 3, Pune. On the call, HR informed me that the roles and responsibilities would involve testing and test management using Jira and Zephyr tools.

HR then sent me a job description for Jira Admin roles and responsibilities, which included authentication and configuration of Jira, as well as upgradation and migration of Jira.

I informed HR that the job description did not align with a senior QA role, but they stated that the technical panel had reviewed my profile and approved me for an interview. Before attending the interview, I confirmed the roles and responsibilities twice, and HR assured me it was for a testing role only.

When I arrived for the interview, before it began, the technical panel asked me about my primary skills and informed me that the opening was for a Jira Admin, not a QA. They mentioned there was some confusion from the HR team. The interview was consequently cancelled.

When I called HR back, they said a different member of the HR team had shortlisted my CV. HR did not even apologize for the situation. I spent almost half a day on this process.

Advice to HR: Please keep in mind that when someone comes for an interview, they are setting aside important work and spending their valuable time and money. Before calling for an interview, carefully review the CV. Also, improve your interview process experience; I was waiting for an interview offer letter for 45 minutes at the reception.
