I attended an interview last Saturday at Capgemini (Eco Space, Bangalore). The interviewer asked me a couple of questions on REST APIs. One question involved writing the syntax for the @Produces annotation. I wrote @Produces("application/json"), but he said it was incorrect.

According to him, the correct syntax should be @Produces(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON).

He disagreed that both are the same, stating that MediaType is a class with a static property APPLICATION_JSON, and this property's value is actually "application/json".

At last, he told me to prepare first and then come back.

It makes me wonder how Capgemini allows someone with that level of knowledge to be an interviewer, especially when there are multiple ways to achieve the same result in coding.

Finally, I came back home :)
