Process

The company visited our college in September 2016. The VC of the company himself came and gave us a presentation about the company. He was very generous and answered all our queries.

The company decided to conduct a three-round interview process, allowing only students from CSE, ECE, IT, and MCA. Students with more than a one-year gap after Class 10 were not permitted, nor were students who had completed both 12th grade and a diploma. The eligibility criteria were 60% in 10th and 12th grade, and a 6.75 CGPA in graduation (up to the 6th semester) with no backlogs.

  1. Aptitude Test and Essay Writing

  2. Technical Interview (TI)

  3. HR Interview

  4. The Aptitude Test consisted of 32 questions: 30 quantitative and 2 logical, to be completed in 45 minutes. The questions were very basic. A student with knowledge of ratios, profit and loss, interest, time and work/distance, unitary method, and basic algebraic equations with two variables could have easily scored 30/30. Naturally, everyone answered all the questions. The logical questions were also simple. The essay topic was "The most important person in your life," to be typed in 5 minutes. Since the essay was machine-checked, focusing on correct typos, grammar, and spelling was sufficient. However, the company's selection policy was unknown until then, and they selected only 25 out of 186 candidates who appeared. The selection process in the aptitude round was vague, confusing, and debatable.

  5. The Technical Interview was also monotonous. Perhaps the interviewer was unsatisfied with his job, as he asked questions unrelated to our streams (e.g., DBMS, jQuery, OS, Android development for ECE students; analog/digital/satellite communication/embedded systems/wireless technology for CSE, IT, MCA students) or about current research (like 5G) or very primitive technologies (e.g., vacuum tube diodes). Despite this, he patiently answered all our questions, whether out of a liking for teaching or frustration, it was hard to tell.

  6. The HR round was not an HR interview at all. We were made to stand on the stage of the campus auditorium and shout "The most funniest incident of your Life" at the top of our voices (as no microphone was provided) so that people at the back could clearly hear us.

After a laborious and long day, unfortunately, no one was selected.

PS: They suddenly decided to complete the entire procedure in one day. Being unprepared, we were without proper food. We could only manage biscuits and cakes from the canteen, which charged extra without reason. They also did not bother to arrange for drinking water.

Therefore, be prepared to handle food and water issues.

Lastly, ensure you are participating in an interview process and not a mockery by observing your Placement Officer's behavior (how they script their day, if they are sitting in a corner, running around, or if the company representatives are interacting with them).

Questions

The most awkward one to me is, "Do you like singing and dancing?" And tell me a joke.
