Salary is not great for an engineering company, even for a consultancy. You're encouraged to bloat your proficiencies to almost straight lying when writing a CV.
Everything has undergone budget reduction, although the company is doing well in the market. So, you find yourself paying for your own dinner during after-work events or eating a cold meal catered from a takeaway for Christmas dinner.
