Almost no flexibility for freshers when it comes to choosing their own area of interest and working on the same. The employee, mainly a fresher, doesn't get to work on what he/she wants within 18 months of employment. After 18 months, he/she will be eligible to work/interview for other projects for the role they want.
Management should clarify with all institutions that no role-specific jobs will be given to college hires before the start.
I have seen some colleagues whose institution told them that the role would be CIS, but the role they received in the organization was different and entirely based on requirements or client needs.
I met some really talented developers who are working in QA teams for manual testing (not implying that manual testing is not a good field, or anything), and they cannot change their domain for at least 18 months. I do not see this as fair treatment. By the time they look for better opportunities inside the organization or outside, their core experience is very different from what they wanted to do in the first place. This will affect the career they wanted and the career they have right now.
I know service-based companies are obliged to prioritize client requirements over employee needs. However, please make this very clear while hiring or during the interview.
