Pros

A good starting bonus (sign-on bonus in my case: 313 gross/month x 18 months) added to FIP plan, lots of opportunities, promote self-development.

Cons

Getting a raise "the old fashion way" is a no-go. Doing a good job in general is not enough to earn a raise. Expectations are at least one diploma/certificate for self-development. But even when these criteria are met, a raise is often a hard point to discuss.

(Vocal) Promises during salary negotiations of keeping the sign-on bonus constant in the paycheck when 18 months have passed are ignored or denied upon request (after 18 months). So, a good sales trick.
