Pros: Everyone is really nice, but things move slowly. The company has interesting projects in the fintech space, and the technologies they are using can be cutting-edge (if you are interested in functional programming).

Cons: Work is slow, which may not be a bad thing. Engineers have to clarify requirements on their own, which means sitting in a lot of meetings, patiently trading ideas with stakeholders about what to do next. This can be painfully boring at times. However, because engineers drive decisions from the bottom-up, there is a great deal of room to contribute to the company's growth. In practice, because everyone already knows that Capital One has a slow culture, the company attracts engineers who, let us say, are not the most ambitious or conscientious. And since the engineers drive everything, and since the engineers are unambitious, everything moves slowly.
