Process

I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter within the week. We scheduled a phone screen where they told me about the role and gauged my interest. The role I applied for would be in front-end development and would work heavily with design.

A week later, I had a second phone screen with the hiring manager, who went over my resume and asked some basic questions. Nothing too technical.

Afterwards, an on-site interview was scheduled. This lasted roughly half a day and included a combination of behavioral and job-fit interviews, along with lunch.

I was surprised at the emphasis on behavioral interviews and how much more they mattered compared to the job-fit ones. The behavioral interviews are designed to find out how one works in teams and with others, and I greatly enjoyed them.

In the job-fit interviews, I was asked to demonstrate intermediate knowledge of JavaScript and its popular frameworks, along with some problem-solving. A UX designer also interviewed me in this format, asking me to walk them through design decisions I personally made in previous projects.

In the final round, I met with the VP in charge of my direct team for an informal chat.
