Pros: Working at Capital One was great, at the start. My team was friendly, and the people were good to work with. However, the onboarding was horrible. The pay, benefits, and ancillary perks were amazing there, as were the cafeterias that were available to eat at.

Cons: There is a complete disconnect between upper management and everyone else regarding job expectations and performance, leading to a ton of confusion as to just how you're supposed to perform so that you get a good rating and bonus at the end of the year. It seems entirely subjective, from the outside looking in. They treat their full-time people like temporary hires, including moving you from one location in the country to another and then eliminating your job. The morale seems to go down further every 6-10 months as they announce more layoffs (excuse me, "redeployments") and as they reorganize constantly.

Pros: A great place to learn and understand.

Cons: It's team-dependent mostly; you can work on something great depending on the team you are in.
