Machine Learning Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I applied online in September 2020.

The process involved three stages:

  • Initial discussion with the recruiter
  • A 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager
  • A four-hour interview, consisting of four sessions (conducted remotely due to COVID-19)

The four-hour interview included:

  • Two job fit interviews, focusing on my background, skills, and projects
  • One case study interview
  • One behavioral interview, which was standard but very well structured (the best I've seen)

The case study interview was a mess. I was asked a series of questions about a fictional scenario unrelated to the job. The interviewer was also unprofessional, frequently checking his phone.

Questions

Describe how to build a system to communicate with a newly acquired bank.

How would you compare the results of two models to determine which is best?
