Pros: Good pay.
Tech-oriented financial institute.
Have the opportunities to use cutting-edge open source tech to grow personal skillsets.
Cons: Lack of good documentation for available services.
Lack of consistent EMR to collaborate cross-functional teams.
People are fond of fancy technologies usage instead of resolving problems.
Difficult to get onsite members. Instead, they prefer to hire contractors in the US or India, which have high team member turnovers.

Pros: Very forward tech stack for a bank. 100% AWS cloud environment. Fairly competitive pay bands. Good work-life balance, but that is changing over the last few years.
Cons: Management and teams are continually hamstrung by leadership. They are tone-deaf to remote work and employee surveys.
A recent wave of ex-AWS leadership to Cap1 brings over a toxic competitive culture and an increasingly savage/political performance review culture that forces out good employees and promotes empty, impact-less vanity projects for promotion.

Pros: - Modern stack of technologies, good to gain experience here.
- Last year, they had some fully remote positions; not sure about this year.
- Big company, easy to switch jobs within the company and grow.
- Attempts to create a good working environment and corporate culture.
Cons: - My experience: too high expectations from a new manager. It was almost impossible to meet those expectations if you're new to Capital One and to the team.
- Don't pay as much as FAANG and startups.
- Sometimes had to work in the evening for migrations and respond to alerts at night or on weekends.
