Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience

April 1, 2024
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The first round was a phone screen with HR.

The second round is a CodeSignal "assessment". It's not really a measure of your coding ability.

The assessment measures your ability to handle unreasonable deadlines and unnecessary pressure from management.

They give you an average of 17 minutes per question.

The questions start easy, but the final question is equivalent in complexity to preparing and submitting your taxes.

The task is fine, but the time limit is insane and reflective of management that has unrealistic expectations and deadlines.

Don't waste your time.

Questions

In 70 minutes, you have to solve 4 tasks.

These tasks range in complexity from near "hello world" to recreating Dijkstra's algorithm.
