Was referred by a previous boss.
Started with a phone call from a recruiter explaining the company culture and job specifications.
Then I had a phone technical interview with a senior manager. I had a great conversation with him.
Next, I participated in a 6-hour in-person interview with a 1-hour lunch break. This included a behavioral interview, a case interview, and two technical interviews.
All interviews went well. Actually, the reason I'm writing this review is that I was getting an offer until they submitted my application and realized I didn't have a degree. However, my 3+ years of experience allowed me to answer all the interview questions successfully. Everyone loved me, according to the recruiter, plus I was a referral.
But they could not give me the offer due to corporate structure. Capital One is a bank, but they pride themselves on being more of a tech company. If Google and Facebook hire non-degree employees, why can't you?
Long story short, I loved everyone I interviewed with and enjoyed the whole process. I was looking forward to joining the team. I'm just very sad that it was blocked by an old mentality and old corporate bank structure.
