Process

I applied for practice purposes before a FAANG interview. If you want to work here, you can memorize the answers. All questions exist on Glassdoor.

Interviewers seem friendly, but the entire process is not professional nor structured.

CodeSignal: Four questions are presented, but solving the first two is enough to pass. You can practice daily before your online assessment. The questions are not exactly the same, but it gives an idea. The first two questions are really easy. The third and fourth can be challenging, but they don't expect you to solve them.

PowerDay:

  1. Design Round: The typical questions exist here. It was a weird interview. One of the interviewers was sitting in a reclining position. He was too lazy to answer the questions. Sometimes I couldn't hear what he said.

  2. Coding Round: LeetCode easy. One of the interviewers had a strong Indian accent. He only read the question. I asked questions to clarify it, but he didn't direct me correctly. I understood the real question in the middle of the interview. If they had copied and pasted the question on CodeSignal, it would have been much easier to understand.

  3. Behavioral: No issues here. He is also Indian, but he was very helpful. He repeated questions twice and explained the STAR structure, etc. The questions are typical behavioral questions, such as a conflict with a team member or a time you had changing requirements for a project and how you handled it.

  4. Case Round: The totally unnecessary part. It was the end of the day. She was in the mood to complete the interview and leave. She was also taking care of her kid. I don't mind; it's okay, we are all working from home. But when I asked questions, I guess she missed or didn't understand correctly. She was distracted, tired, and trying to speed up. She copied and pasted lots of code blocks. She asked questions like, "What is the output?" It wasn't difficult, but the interviewer's structure made it hard to follow and understand what she wanted. They could prepare a more structured environment for these questions.

Overall, my observation is that this interview is great preparation for FAANG interviews. It is a free mock interview. Other than that, I wouldn't want to work there. The salary is also average or below average.
