Software Engineer (Internship) Interview Experience - McLean, Virginia
Process
I had an on-site interview at McLean, where they provided a tour right before the interviews.
The three interviews were behavioral, case, and technical.
They did not clarify how the case interviews would be conducted beforehand, and I had no knowledge going into the case interview because I had no experience in security.

- 4.0Good Company, but experience depends on your teamMaster Software Engineer • Current EmployeeMcLean, Virginia, United StatesJanuary 18, 2021Pros: Work-life balance and 401k are wonderful.Cons: Super political environment at times.
- 2.0Remnants of old banking cultureSenior Software Engineer • Former EmployeeMcLean, Virginia, United StatesJuly 8, 2024Pros: Nice campus. They use AWS. They try to be diverse.Cons: A lot of favoritism. Pay is fair but well-below the top-paying companies that get the best talent. I wasn't a fan of the culture. It's nice on the surface level, but if you're a minority willing to put on your mask, you should be fine. Just make sure you have mentors because having that mask can be very draining, and most won't understand.
