Process

I was contacted by a recruiter. For the case study portion, it's important to ask a lot of clarifying questions about the case to help narrow down the problem. My case involved Capital One, a brick-and-mortar finance company, facing the dilemma of purchasing an online credit card company – essentially an acquisition.

I needed to state the pros and cons:

  • Pros: Wider national reach to customers and speed of transactions.
  • Cons: Fraud and security risks.

Afterward, I was given some poorly written code (in either Java or Python) and asked to refactor it, which was about 14-16 lines long.

Following this, there were behavioral and technical rounds. The behavioral round was similar to other interviews. The technical round involved solving three LeetCode Easy/Medium problems. This was all part of the final round.
