Pros

Best compensation and benefits, job stability around.

Work environment is casual, allows for work-life balance, or occasional working from home.

If you aren't lazy, do your job, and have decent competencies, you will consistently be rated well, although it is much harder and more competitive to actually advance.

Cons

Recognition and advancement sometimes is more dependent on having a good manager to represent you in cross-calibrations, or having impressed the right people, rather than actually doing your job well.
