Wanted to post a review of Capital One after some time has passed.
When I speak about my career, I look back at Capital One as one of my best experiences.
The company is focused on offering opportunities and still has a category-defining culture.
Working in the technology group, there were normal transformation challenges, but an expressed focus on artfully migrating to digital and technology.
All of this emanates from the CEO, who is less active and on the ground than previously, but still displays leadership that is unparalleled, from my perspective, in the banking world.
Capital One had to make some trade-offs to bring in technical talent, for expertise. Polarizing and neglectful, don’t settle on culture.
Reinforce the culture that got our company off the ground. It's the only true differentiator.
I was given a link to an online coding assessment but didn't get the chance to finish it before receiving an automated email stating the role had been filled. I emailed the recruiter, and they confirmed that the role had indeed been filled.
Technical screening through CodeSignal. Got screened out from this round. Technical screening through CodeSignal. Got screened out from this round. Technical screening through CodeSignal. Got screened out from this round.
The case interview is not hard; it's not scary. You are given a scenario of a business problem, and you have to talk about the pros and cons. Technical interviews involve design.
