Even if you're in a high-performing org, they have to cut a certain number of people by mandate. It's terrible for morale and causes a lot of unnecessary stress, and often ends up forcing out good people.
They also won't account for personal circumstances at all, so if you have a major medical issue for one performance period, well... good luck.
Get rid of stack ranks, or at least reduce it to once a year and a lower percentage. It's good to cut the lowest performers; they definitely exist, but the current system results in good people getting axed for no reason. This company acts like it’s Big Tech but doesn’t offer Big Tech compensation.

Extreme tribalism and protectionism. The interviewer played with his phone and worked on his own thing. Having been on both sides of these types of technical interviews, this is one of the worst experiences that I have ever seen.
