Pros

As a Software Engineer, you will have contact with multiple tools and technologies, so there may be learning that will be very useful in your professional career.

Cons
  • Toxic workplace
  • There is micromanagement
  • Terrible work culture
  • Terrible "engineering culture"
  • Terrible documentation
  • Many of the tools used are internal. The vast majority of them are poorly made, poorly documented, and constantly fail.
  • Manager evaluations are subjective. Basically, they end up evaluating whether your manager likes you or not.
  • They don't know how to use Agile.
  • Quantity is preferred over quality.
  • The architecture and code are of terrible quality. A common practice among developers is to copy and paste existing code, further increasing the low quality.
  • Code reviews are a joke. The vast majority of the time they are approved without hardly being reviewed.
  • There are people without technical knowledge in positions that require making technical decisions.
  • There is a preference for associates from certain places over others.
  • Training (onboarding) is nonexistent. You are expected to learn everything yourself, including internal processes.
  • The technical knowledge of Senior/Staff Software Engineers is poor, despite having numerous years within the company. Highly qualified talent is scarce here.
  • In summary, a stale bank that thinks it's cool for using AWS.
Advice to Management

Aprendan a evaluar de forma objetiva a sus empleados.

Mejoren su cultura laboral; obligar a sus empleados a asistir a una oficina no la mejora automáticamente.

Aprendan a relacionarse con personas de diferentes lugares.
