Pros

Good compensation and free lunches

Cons

Everyone can see the value in being together, but the office policy is making it almost impossible to attract top talent, forcing departments to instead lower the bar to build the numbers. When we don't lower the bar, we waste our resources attempting to hire and become stuck in the vicious cycle.

This simple, fundamental flaw is so universally accepted, it's genuinely quite obnoxious that senior management continues to ignore it.
