Software Engineer Interview Experience - Boston, Massachusetts

November 27, 2017
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process involved:

  • An initial call
  • A very basic online test on HackerRank, featuring radio button questions on programming syntax and principles
  • Similar questions on the phone
  • Followed by an in-person interview lasting 2.5 hours.

Boston's hiring is crazy, leading to a haphazard process at best. HR doesn't seem to have time to follow through in a professional manner. One of the software engineers at my interview was adamant to prove his point, instead of focusing on broad areas to evaluate me. There weren't enough engineers to conduct interviews, nor a manager in place to build the engineering team.
