Unlimited time off. Managers I've had respected this.
Cool dog park in the office. Nice office generally.
Terrible upper management. Incompetent and nepotistic at best, malicious at worst.
At worst, blatant favoritism and open threats to your job if you don't bend the knee. If you get a good manager, they either can't stand it and leave, burn out and leave, or are let go. So you will eventually end up with a bad manager.
The worst managers already know the harm they're doing and are proud of it, so no advice is going to help them.
Management in general should value their current employees more and try to reduce churn. They should remember that the people most likely to leave are the most qualified people on their team, and encouraging churn is just going to make their teams weaker.
The role was for a React developer. The interview enforced coding in vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. After a while coding in React, your vanilla JavaScript coding skills fade, making you panic as if you don't know anything.
Step 1: Apply to the role. Step 2: If selected, a recruiter will contact you. Step 3: Recruiter call. Step 4: 1-hour interview with one of their engineers (30 minutes of technical questions and a 30-minute coding round on HackerRank). Step 5: 4-h
Discussions with recruiters were about the only positive part of this process. Everyone from management/directors to the engineers was very rude. I would not have worked here even if I had received an offer.
