The process took 2 months.
I applied for a Full Stack Developer position at ClickHouse. The process started with an initial conversation with the recruiter, followed by a live coding interview. After that, I was given a take-home assignment, which I worked on for five full days. Next, I had an assignment review with the team lead and one of the team members. After that, there were two additional interviews — one with the engineering manager and another with a VP. I eventually received and accepted an offer from ClickHouse.
The plan was for me to relocate to Amsterdam, and ClickHouse had agreed to sponsor my visa. However, shortly after, I received a call informing me that they had to withdraw the offer because I am Iranian.
Overall, I truly enjoyed the interview process — everyone I met was professional and friendly. But I still find it deeply disappointing and unfair that an offer could be rescinded solely based on the country I was born in.
I was asked to implement a simple ecommerce platform as a take-home assignment.
