Process
The interview process was fairly detailed.
Initially, there were a few phone screen interviews. This was followed by two in-person interviews with individual contributors and managers.
Most of the discussions focused on management styles and management problem-solving.
The interviews also included technical design questions that emphasized distributed, scalable systems. There was a lot of emphasis on concurrent programming language constructs and databases.

Being a leader in Hadoop, it is not uncommon to find engineers who are active in the open source community. Compensation is excellent. All the usual benefits of being a tech firm in Silicon Valley are present, such as paid lunches, micro-kitchens with snacks, unlimited vacation, and the list goes on. People are very friendly, and politics is at a minimum. Excellent place to work.Cons: The company is growing rapidly and is trying to move from a startup mentality to a more established firm. As such, the need for process and procedures has been noticed and is a work in progress.
