The interview process included one phone interview and an onsite interview in Palo Alto. The onsite interview consisted of six sessions, each lasting one hour, except for the lunch session with the director. The total onsite interview duration was six hours, from 10 AM to 4 PM. Maintaining a good mood and full energy from start to finish was a challenge.
The hiring manager and director were very nice, and I enjoyed speaking with them. The position is very attractive because they mentioned that you can spend around 50% of your time on favorite tasks, such as contributing to the community, besides delivering the Cloudera version.
I declined the offer because Cloudera did not match my existing salary, and the engineering level did not align with my expectations.
