I was emailed about an opportunity to interview for this position over the phone. I replied almost immediately but was met with no answer.
As the suggested interview day approached, they finally resent the email from one of their personal accounts, citing that they had sent an email from their 'null' account. Oook, I would think that after years of recruiting, they'd have figured this process out and executed it well, but ooook, no big deal.
Finally, the interview. It was a mishmash of questions ranging from behavioral to PHP-related. Some questions included:
I know I answered the technical questions satisfactorily. However, after waiting 2-3 weeks and sending a follow-up, I haven't received a call or email back, so I assume they are not continuing with my application.
I think it is a very bad experience when a company does not follow up, especially if you are interested in and experienced for the position.
Personally, I think the behavioral questions need to be thrown out. Getting an honest answer to these kinds of questions, especially for a technical position, from someone not qualified to judge the truthfulness of the answers, will not happen. The focus should have been on PHP and the position itself.
The behavioral questions were unexpected for the "technical" position from a "technical" person.
